The more people that participate, the greater the buying power. Thus, more communities and families will benefit through volunteer service.

How often you participate is up to YOU.

Prairie Land Food is FUNDED through YOU, the participant.

Prairie Land Food offers flexibility.

Prairie Land Food offers a nutritious grocery package which includes a wide assortment of frozen meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, just like you see in major grocery stores. Packages, "Prairie Paks" are offered at a low cost, helping to s-t-r-e-t-c-h your food dollars.

Your time and talent can benefit your community. Do you volunteer as a 4-H leader or a soccer coach, sing in the church choir, teach Sunday School, or volunteer in the church nursery? Do you pick up trash on your daily walk, say a prayer for those in need, visit a homebound friend, or give of your time in some other way? If so, you are eligible to participate in the Prairie Land Food program.

How The Program Works

Prairie Land Food is a program designed around the idea of giving a helping hand to people in your community. In return, volunteers are offered a nutritious grocery package at a low cost.

A monthly menu includes 13-17 items (dependant on market fluctuations), which include 6-7 meat items for a basic package (called a Prairie Pak). There is the option to purchase additional items, which tend to be the main course in any family meal or gathering.

When the truck reaches Derby, the bulk order is unloaded by volunteers and sorted to complete each participant's order.

Banana Cream Pie - 38 OZ - 1

5 LB box of 1/3 LB Ground Sirloin Burgers, each burger is individually wrapped.

One hour of additional volunteer service is required for each special purchased.
Specials change each month.
